What keeps women from being their best? Joyce has been helping women better themselves by helping identify emotional barriers and physical, mental, and spiritual obstacles in their lives for years. Now she provides another answer-confidence.
Our society has an insecurity epidemic, women in particular. Compensating by pretending to be secure-a common response-only leads to feelings of shame. Lack of self-confidence causes great difficulty in relationships of all kinds, and in marriage instances can even lead to divorce.
In THE CONFIDENT WOMAN, Joyce explores the seven characteristics of a woman with confidence, which include a woman who knows she is loved, who refuses to live in fear, and who does not live by comparisons. Joyce explains that confidence stems from being positive in your actions and living honestly, but most importantly from having faith, in God and in ourselves.
In "The Confident Woman", Joyce Meyer shares what she has learned about confidence, and her words encourage each of us to become the women that God intended us to be.
Right from the very first chapter, Joyce's words caught my attention. On page one, her first words are: "What is confidence? I believe confidence is all about being positive concerning what you can do - and not worrying over what you can't do. A confident person is open to learning, because she knows that her confidence allows her to walk through life's doorways, eager to discover what waits on the other side. She knows that every new unknown is a chance to learn more about herself and unleash her abilities."
Throughout the book, Joyce gives practical and biblical examples of how we can become confident as daughters, wives, mothers, sisters and friends. She touches on our fears, stresses and insecurities and how we need to change how we look at ourselves. We need to be bold and have the confidence to step out and do new things.
I love all the books I have read so far by Joyce Meyer, and this one is no exception. The Confident Woman is another book that I will be adding to my permanent book collection and I will definitely read it again!
