The Castaways by Elin Hilderbrand
Once again, Hilderbrand masterfully weaves an intense tale of love and loyalty set against the backdrop of endless summer island life.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Elin Hilderbrand lives on Nantucket with her husband and their three young children. She grew up in Collegeville, PA, and traveled extensively before settling on Nantucket, which has been the setting for her seven previous novels. Hilderbrand is a graduate of John Hopkins University and the graduate fiction workshop at the University of Iowa.
Jeffrey and Delilah, Ed and Andrea, Tess and Greg, Phoebe and Addison. These four couples were somehow brought together in friendship on the island of Nantucket, and they developed an insanely tight bond. At times it seemed like it was just the eight of them on a deserted island.
Their friendship developed so many twists and turns over the years. Drug problems, marriage infidelities, tragically ended pregnancies, and so much more. But none of them were prepared for the devastation of losing one of the couples to a sailboat accident.
When Tess and Greg died, the biggest struggle for those left behind was to find out what really happened on that fateful day. Privately, each of them felt responsible and felt they could have done something to prevent what happened.
The Castaways is filled with passion, betrayal and suspense as it probes the boundaries of friendship and forgiveness. A great summer read!
