MY REVIEW

Every move that we make is important ... and Andy Andrews demonstrates in his book The Butterfly Effect just how significant each event or decision in our lives can be to future generations.

One example of the butterfly effect is the great Gettysburg battle in July 1863. The decision that Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain made on that day was to charge ahead, even though the troops under his command were sadly outnumbered. The popular decision would have been to retreat and try to save their own lives. The victorious outcome on that historic day was a direct result of the courage of one man. If not for Joshua Chamberlain's decision, our very freedom would not be what it is today.

Beautifully illustrated, this book helps us to understand how our life matters. Every move we make, every action we take, and every word we speak has the ability to affect not just ourselves, but many more besides. Just like Joshua Lawrence Chamberlain's decision in 1863, we have no idea what impact our actions might have on those around us, but also on others that we may never even meet.

"Your life ... and what you do with it today ... MATTERS FOREVER."
