The Imperial Cruise by James Bradley

On the success of his two bestselling books about World War II, James Bradley began to wonder what the real catalyst was for the Pacific War. What he discovered shocked him.

In 1905 President Teddy Roosevelt dispatched Secretary of War William Taft, his daughter Alice, and a gaggle of congressmen on a mission to Japan, the Philippines, China, and Korea with the intent of forging an agreement to divide up Asia. This clandestine pact lit the fuse that would-decades later-result in a number of devastating wars: WWII, the Korean War, and the communist revolution in China.

In 2005, James Bradley retraced that epic voyage and discovered the remarkable truth about America's vast imperial past. Full of fascinating characters brought brilliantly to life, The Imperial Cruise will powerfully revise the way we understand U.S. history.

James Bradley is the author of the New York Times bestsellers Flyboys and Flags of Our Fathers and the son of one of the men who raised the American flag on Iwo Jima. He lives in New York.

PERSONAL THOUGHTS (this book reviewed by my husband)

After reading “The Imperial Cruise” by James Bradley, I feel betrayed by American history as it is portrayed in the history books. And I am now in the process of changing my own worldview. My former worldview of the history of the early 1900's is seemingly built on lies and the greed of earlier politicians of the so called "civilized world". These so called "civilized men" were the cause of millions of people in America and Asia to be (there are no other words) murdered, slaughtered, with torture, humiliation and dehumanizing. Whole peaceful societies were destroyed because these so called "civilized men" wanted more power and more financial gain.  All of this was because they they were white, and therefore thought they were superior to other people with different cultures and a different color of skin. They are directly or indirectly responsible for the millions of deaths during W.W.1 and W.W.2.

They are responsible for the illegal drug trade that plagues the whole world and the millions of people addicted to cocaine, heroin or crack today on our streets.

My question now is this --- are the politicians of today any better? I am afraid of the answer.

I highly recommend this book to anyone that would like to know the truth, if they can handle the whole truth and nothing else.

According to the Bible this is Satan’s world for a time and some of the evidence for that is found in this book. The king of lies and greed, the ultimate destroyer of God’s children surely found some of his Satanic followers in the politicians described in this book. Thank you James Bradley for uncovering the truth.

Disclosure: I received a complimentary copy of The Imperial Cruise from Hachette Books, in exchange for my honest review.
