Including practical theology of why living out of a place of authentic desire is central to living in the Kingdom of God, Rick McKinley will help you understand how your innermost desires shape your experience of following Jesus.
A Kingdom Called Desire will help you:
- Uncover your core desires
- Discover the freedom of living honestly before God
- Allow God’s desires to shape your life
- See how your own unique personality, gifts, and experiences can be used by Jesus in his Kingdom
The results of McKinley’s life-changing message can be seen in people from his own community at Imago Dei. While A Kingdom Called Desire will inspire you to see the practical display of Kingdom theology, it will also be deeply formational, allowing you to engage in your own personal journey and find healing and redemption in your unmet desires.
A Kingdom Called Desire will unleash you from stale religious duty, as well as cynical social activism, bringing you into a dynamic love relationship with Jesus, motivated by the fulfillment of authentic desire.

Every once in awhile you read a book on faith (Christianity) that is like looking in the mirror. You get a reality check into your own life and motives. In fact, it makes you take a serious look at the real reason for your personal beliefs.
This is one of those books. The author is brutally honest, not only of Christians in general, but he includes himself in the struggles that we have regarding our faith. Much too often we do not realize the magnificent and total love of our Creator for His prize creations --- us!
Too often we do not understand the role that Jesus plays in this outpouring of love on humanity. This book is about desire -- the desire we have inside of each and every one of us to experience the perfect love of our Heavenly Father.
This is a must read for anyone who desires a more intimate relationship with God or is seeking the real truth about why we are here on this earth. I thank Rick McKinley for writing this important message to humanity. I rate this book a 5 out of 5, or even higher if I could.
