The Ambition by Lee Strobel

A corrupt judge in a mob murder case. A disillusioned pastor, hungry for power. A cynical reporter, sniffing for a scandal. A gambling addict whose secret tape threatens the lives of everyone who hears it. New York Times bestselling author Lee Strobel weaves these edgy characters into an intricate thriller set in a gleaming, suburban megachurch, a big-city newspaper struggling for survival, and the shadowy corridors of political intrigue. The unexpected climax is as gripping as the contract killing that punctuates the opening scene.

MY THOUGHTS

The author Lee Strobel is well known through his books, “The Case for Christ and The Case for a Creator” and many more expository books proving the reality of our Lord Jesus Christ.

This is the author's first attempt at writing a fictional Christian Novel, and he does very well indeed. I really enjoyed the novel “The Ambition” where human drama, suspense, corruption, our legal system, and hope are all present to keep us reading way past our bedtime.

Above all we find that God is the major player in this fictional novel. God influences the outcome of this story by the miracles that take place in Diamond Point Fellowship, the church where Pastor Eric is the senior Pastor. Eric faces the same issues that we all do at one time or another, and that is the call of God on our lives. The question here is also the question that many of us Christians face, specifically "does our desire line up with the will of God?" That is the main theme in this masterfully written novel.

This is a good one, get it and enjoy!
