The Day We Met by Dusti Bowling

Sixteen-year-old Lenna James goes to church, attends youth group, and hangs out with the “church geeks” at school. At least, she did. Enticed by a chance with the boy she’s had a crush on for years, Lenna abandons her values and her lifelong friends to hang out with the popular crowd. What she gets in return couldn’t be further from her expectations.

Feeling used and alone and facing an unexpected pregnancy, Lenna struggles to regain control of her life, her parents’ trust, and the love of her best friend, Will. But when her pregnancy takes an unexpected turn, taking away what little control she thought she had, she must find the strength to make the most heart-wrenching decision of all. She feels lost no matter what she chooses. Will she finally choose to look up?

The Day We Met is available at Amazon.

The Day We Met tugged at some sensitive and hidden places within my heart. Lenna's story was so heart breaking and yet incredibly inspirational.  I loved how the author graciously portrayed the troubled teenager as a daughter passionately and unconditionally loved by her parents, and most importantly by God.

At the darkest and most desperate time of her young life, Lenna had to make some very serious and life changing choices. She could either wallow in self-pity and depression or she could accept the love and support being offered to her.

I had tears many times while reading this book, and I absolutely recommend it to all women ... young and old. It is difficult to say too much more without giving away vital parts of the story, but trust me ... this is one that you don't want to miss.
