I will definitely be reading more of Ann Tatlock's novels in the very near future.  Sometimes a book draws you in and you can almost imagine interacting with the characters and you can feel what their life was like. This is what Travelers Rest did for me.

Jane was a passionate young woman determined to do what was right, even though it almost broke her heart. She was engaged to marry the love of her life, Seth, just as soon as he came back from the war.  However, his life was forever changed when he was tragically injured, and he came back home a broken and bitter man.

The characters that Jane and Seth met at the veteran's hospital made the journey for them one of personal challenge and discovery. So often when reading a book like this, I expect that the outcome will be one of living happily ever after, in spite of the challenges.  Travelers Rest is a journey of redemption, forgiveness and second chances, but definitely not a predictable story.  A very enjoyable read!
