A Place to Belong by Lauraine Snelling

The Exciting Conclusion to Lauraine Snelling's WILD WEST WIND series

As winter settles over the Engstrom ranch, Cassie Lockwood has a lot on her mind. The way Lucas Engstrom smiles at her should set her heart to tripping. But it doesn't. Shouldn't there be some attraction to him if they are going to be married? His vow to make her love him doesn’t seem to be working, no matter how considerate and charming he is. And then there's the look she caught him sending Betsy Hudson at church one Sunday. Are she and Lucas drifting apart?

During a short trip away, Cassie realizes she must make other plans for her future. But what will the Engstroms say when she announces plans to leave the ranch and join a Wild West show?

What an exciting conclusion to a fantastic series!  I was drawn into the life of Cassie from the first book and couldn't wait to see how her life changed in spite of all the hardships she had to face.

Lucas Engstrom was determined to make Cassie his wife, and finally she reluctantly agreed. But she had doubts about this decision right from the start. As the wedding day approached, other events developed that nobody could have predicted.

Cassie doesn't know how she will be able to continue as part of the Engstrom family, and she looks for alternatives including joining a Wild West show as a sharp shooter. Definitely not the traditional woman from the Wild West, Cassie faces some very touch decisions that will affect not only her own life, but also the lives of her friends who depend on her.

This entire series is a fascinating read that I highly recommend.
